A lot has changed since our last cover 10 months ago (I can't believe it has been that long, what happened to U.S.??). I had my long hair finally cut (8 months ago) after almost 2 years of not going to a barber shop or a salon while Yza also started sporting bangs for more than 6 months now. Also, Yza transferred to a new apartment which made her really happy -- she now has the luxury to design and decorate her own room as she pleases.
After our Caramoan weekend, the girls and Mar flew to Cebu straight from Legaspi. E and I didn't book bus tickets to Manila yet, so we figured we could make a quick visit to the famous Cagsawa Ruins and experience the Mayon volcano as seen in postcards.
Prior to this trip, I never had any strong desire to see Mt. Mayon in person. I figured that seeing it in postcards was enough. I never realized how strong its presence is, especially when you're standing right in front of it. Actually, everywhere you go in Legaspi, you see and feel the Mayon lurking, watching you. It's so beautiful.
Nothing Short of Majestic
This being a Y and E blog, I hope it's okay if I use up a bit of space talking about my bestest group of friends. After all, we probably would not be together had these girls not been as supportive as they were. As the brilliant Spice Girls say, "If you wanna be my lover, you gotta get with my friends." So there.
My bestfriends and I are so different, our lives just took flight in various directions after we graduated from high school. We were never clingy people, so after college, we each pursued what we (thought we) wanted. No peer pressure, just each one going after their interests/hopes and dreams. One went to nursing school hoping (and still hoping) to work abroad, one took up medical technology with dreams of becoming a doctor, one took up management in the best university in Cebu (biased girl here, what can I say?), another one studied to be an accountant (and is now our ticket to the quickest bank transactions!), another one studied sports science (we ended up as dorm mates in UP), while I went on to major in broadcast communication. Talk about diverse. We all went to different schools, save for me and Erika who both went to UP Diliman - but with courses that are outrageously different, we hardly saw each other even then.
Fun, Sun, Caramoan
A week before Stacy's opened a branch in Bonifacio Global City, Yza and I spontaneously drove all the way to QC on the night of the May 13 elections -- I guess to celebrate exercising our right to vote, if that’s still worth celebrating these days. hihi. =)
Yza has always wanted to eat at Stacy's. She saw photos of the place some time ago and was so excited to see it in person. I, on the other hand, didn't know what to expect (never bothered to look at the photos. hehe). I just know it as a “cute-sy cute-sy place” according to Yza’s vocabulary.
I’m In Love With Stacy’s…
ABOUT US
HI! We're Eliel and Yza.
Welcome to our blog!
We are newlyweds trying to figure out life.
We've been together for 9 years before getting married in 2016.
On our third year as a couple, we started this blog to document our adventures, milestones, dates, and random thoughts. Throughout the years, it has mostly become our travel diary. Because we're very forgetful people, this has helped us relive some of our favorite memories. Now that we're married, we're on a new adventure and we can't wait for what's in store for us.
Someday, we plan to compile these blog posts into a coffee-table book in case one of us gets Alzheimer's (The Notebook) or amnesia (50 First Dates). *knocks on wood*
