Tapsi-Love
Nothing spells comfort food like Rodic's. It was my go-to place back when I was a UP dormer:) Their Tapsilog (tapa-sinangag-itlog) is an institution.
Back when I was in college, E would visit me on campus and we would go to Rodics when we couldn't think of anywhere else to eat. I think I tried almost everything on their menu. Aside from their Tapsi, I loved their skinlessilog, rellenong hipon and caldereta. *drool*
Thankfully, there's Rodic's right here in Makati, right along Salcedo Street in Legaspi Village. E and I decided to have dinner there a while ago.
It has the same carinderia feel as the UP Shopping Center's Rodic's. And it even had a huge version of Larry Alcala's famous Slice of Life caricature of UP with Rodic's in it:)
Sadly, the prices have gone up. 70 pesos for Tapsilog? It was 50 pesos 7 years ago.
Even my favorite breakfast promo has gotten expensive.
But we don't mind. Their Tapsilog still looks as yummy as ever.
